Situated in the quiet, rural village of Steeple Aston our purpose-built Victorian school has been modernised and extended for the exclusive use of pre-school children.
Our Curriculum
At Steeple Aston Preschool, we believe the early years are a precious and very short chapter in a child’s life. We believe that learning happens everywhere — through play, relationships, curiosity, exploration, laughter and everyday experiences.
What makes us unique is that our children are at the centre of their learning. We provide a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where children have the freedom and space to be themselves, develop their own interests and discover the world at their own pace.
We believe laughter is an important part of learning. Happy, confident children are more likely to explore, take risks, ask questions and develop a lifelong love of learning. We want our preschool to be a place where children feel valued, listened to and, most importantly, happy.
Our staff are guided by the children — observing their interests, listening to their ideas and identifying their individual next steps. We use the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) as the foundation for our curriculum, ensuring that children develop across all areas of learning while recognising that every child is unique.
At Steeple Aston Preschool, we believe children should have an active role in shaping their own learning journey. Rather than simply directing what children learn, we follow their lead, build on their curiosity and create opportunities for them to explore, investigate and discover.
Our curriculum is therefore flexible, responsive and child-centred. It grows and changes with the children themselves.

What our parents say
The range of activities for both play and learning is astounding and inspiring. My son is so happy at home and growing and developing in the most beautiful way under the care of this team of teachers and carers.
